Winchester Defender barrel question
Can I replace the barrel on my Winchester Defender shotgun so it will be a decent bird hunting gun? It currently has an 18" barrel and the pattern is very wide. I was wondering if there was a way to replace that barrel with a longer choked barrel.....
Thanks in advance for the help. |

there surely is. buy a longer aftermarket barrel and install it.
you should know the dissassembly insdtuctions by now, but if you don't someone more versed in the defender will speak up and tell you. (my dad has a defender, but i don't mess with it much.) |

I think the only way to get around that mag extension is to get the 22" Camp Defender barrel from Winchester. It is threaded for tubes and has rifle sights. Don't know how the sights would affect wingshooting...

the real problem is the lack of aftermarket barrels. Brownells makes a replacement magazine tube cap that will allow you to use regular 1200/1300 barrels.
