Barnes X Bullets Not weighing up

I recently bought some Barnes X 180gr for my .300wm. Just for curosity i weighed a few of the bullets and found they differed in weight by up to 8gr.

Some weighed 183gr some weighed 176gr.

Will this effect accuracy, i am not a target shooter so if there is a minute difference i will not be concerned.

Anyone able to comment on this.. Thanks

Are your scales repeatable - i.e does the same projectile weigh the same several times in a row?

Sierra / Nosler etc rarely vary by more than 1/10ths of a grain or so...

Wow... thats pretty consistent. I have never seen a box of bullets with tolerances that tight. I usually see a 1-2 grain difference between bullets in the 130-150gr range.

Has anybody else had bullets within 1/10 a grain of each other?

Maybe my scales are broke...

G'day. I'm sure I read that the manufacturing tolerance for SIERRA hunting projectiles was +/- 0.5 grain. I found out of 100, 55 grain Game King (#1365) that the variation was +0.0 & -0.5 of a grain. I measured them all 3 times on different ocasions. Most of them were within 0.3 grain.
Note; Measuring 100 projectiles with a beam scale will fill in a quiet night shift.
