Federal small pistol magnum primers?

I just got home from the gun shop and realized that I accidentally bought Federal small pistol MAGNUM primers instead of normal small pistol primers.

Is this going to cause a problem? I'm working up a new .40 S&W load so as long as I start low and work up I shouldn't have any issues, correct?

I'd start at the recommended starting load and check for signs of over pressure such as flatten primers and such. Then go from there.
