Nevada & Multi State CCW Permit Classes

Hello Everyone,
New to your great forum. I have been requested by several of our California students to post our class schedule for Nevada & Multi-State CCW permit classes. First of all just a few testimonials from previous students:

7-31-2010: I thought Kevin was a very good instructor. His class was extremely instructional. Very knowledgeable of the fundamentals, laws and types of guns. Bobby B.

7-31-2010: Learned a lot, Kevin didn't talk down and made me feel comfortable. He has a lot of knowledge and I will be recommending this class to others. John A.

6-9-2010: This class is informative and fun. Kevin combines seriousness and humor while teaching safety and proper handling of handguns. He explains laws well and takes time with individuals. I have no complaints and would take more classes from Arms To Bear. Alexandria C.

5-4-2010: I felt this class was very informative & complete, covering many different areas that I did not even think would be covered. Kevin, my instructor was friendly, respectful and knowledgeable. I felt the coverage was complete and I will return to take other classes here. Eric H.

4-17-10: Great class. Great information. Conducted very professionally. Very useful techniques. I really enjoyed learning by doing it, it is more effective. I liked the field range training very much. Different scenarios and how we should react are very helpful. I feel much more confident after this training class. Thank you Kevin for doing such a great job! Yiwen Z.

3-20-2010: Excellent instruction. Very informative. Lots of information. I liked the hands on training. Kevin was very interactive and positive. A very good teacher. I learned a lot and will use him in the future. Ted T.

3-6-2010: I was very impressed with Kevin's instructions and training. He is very helpful and I will definitely attend another training class. I enjoyed the entire class. Kevin you are very informative and a great trainer. I wouldn't change anything, the class was great. Kevin don't retire from training, you are great. William R.

3-1-10: Accomplished everything I wanted from the course and more. Put a portion of Law Enforcement style training into the live scenarios. Brandon M.

3-13-10: Excellent tactical drills. Mike H.

2-20-10: The class was very good. A lot of things were introduced in class which people could use in self defense scenarios and whether your action was justified or not. Really liked the practical shooting with live fire practical and relevant scenarios. Dio P.

Of course we have many, many more testimonials available on our website. We are currently trying to help everyone in need of a ccw permit class get all the required training to help shooters obtain as many state ccw permits as possible in one place. Therefore due to the high unemployment and poor economy we have lowered our rates and are presently offering a multi-state permit class to include: Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oregon & Utah for an incredible price of only $125. That's right $125. Bring 3 or more people in one group and we will drop the price to $105. We will provide all your training and get you to the Sheriff's office in time to file your paperwork all in the same day. We have probably taught as many as 250 Californians over the past several years. We would love for you to come over the hill to Reno and provide you with some of the best training in the area. My credentials are listed below and we would love to have you come and train with us soon.

Doesn't matter, oneounceload. My CCW class in February 2009 met the requirements for both Nevada and Utah, and I have CCW permits from both states now. In Nevada, I use the Nevada permit. In other states, I use the Nevada permit where it is recognized, and the Utah permit where the Nevada permit is not recognized but the Utah one is. The Utah permit is recognized in a number of states that do not recognize the Nevada permit, so having it expands the list of states where I can carry concealed.

I know nothing about "ArmsToBear"; I live in the same area as he does, but took my CCW class from somebody else. However, nothing he posted or said sounds in any way odd to me. Classes that qualify you for CCW permits from multiple states are not unusual around here.

When I had my NV CCW, it was only good in NV as NV didn't recognize too many contiguous or nearby states at that time

These classes would not be good in Cal. would they? I am in Az. & Cal. does not honor ours. Az. honors all CCW permits as far as I can tell. Nev. does not honor ours either. I wondered because in his opening he mentions Cal. students.

California does not recognize *any* concealed carry permits but its own, and does not issue its own to anybody but California residents. The California permit requires only that you convince the local police chief in your incorporated town or city, or the county sheriff if you live outside of an incorporated town or city, to issue the permit. No specific class or training is required.

Further, taking any class or training and otherwise meeting the requirements does not guarantee a California resident a CCW permit. California is a "may issue" state, not a "shall issue" state. That means that the sheriff can deny a permit for any reason or no reason if he wishes. Many sheriffs do so wish; it is nearly impossible for anybody to get a permit in many parts of California unless they are a celebrity or a major contributor to the local sheriff's re-election campaign. :/ In other parts of California, the local sheriff will issue the permit to anybody who isn't manifestly unfit. The situation is uneven. (And, for non-Californians travelling in California, IMHO a violation of the Second Amendment.)

I expect that the "California students" that the OP refers to are Californians who were obtaining Nevada and other permits so that they could carry concealed in other states. Not all states recognize the California permit; many more recognize the Nevada and (especially) Utah permits. Several people in my CCW class in 2009 were Californians who were obtaining out-of-state permits to use when travelling outside of California.
