simple quick question...
After all the recent talk about Hodgden 380 and 308's on here lately, i decided to pop in some magnum primers and give it a whirl. I bought "H380". I got home popped open Lymans 49th and started weighing out 50grs to preset my powder dispenser. The book indicates 52 as max and denotes that load as compressed. Now, i dumped a 50gr charge in and a 48 gr charge in the case and it still looked like it was going to be compressed. Im using hornady 150gr FMJ BT. Now heres the question....the book says "H-380" is this a different powder the "H380"? The bottle does not include a hyphen...is this the same powder or did i buy a different powder then listed in the book?

In my Hornady manual it's H 380, in my Hodgdon it's listed H380, I finally found my Lyman manual and it does show a hyphen between the H and the numbers. Same powder though, seems Bruce Hodgdon (I think) used a powder that he purchased in bulk from the military/Government that he worked up a load for his 22/250 and 38grs shot very small groups, that's how the powder came to be known as H380! A little triva for you! William

Ok, thanx...i figured it.was the same but looking at the amount of powder made me.question it for a sec so i figured id ask. First time using this powder, ive never used such a small powder. Im a big imr4320 fan. Thanks for the reassurance.
