For Hodgdon and Alliant, click on the print button and the pop-up will show you the barrel length used. For Ramshot they will list it at the start of the cartridge info.

For how much calibers are affected by barrel length, check out this website. http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/calibers.html

Depends on the cartridge what barrel length they use to test. 9mm usually four to five inches. 7mm Remington Magnum usually 24 inches. They usually will list their test barrel length with their data.

One inch of barrel length may give you an extra 50 fps, maybe not though. Some barrels shoot faster than others and some powders will give more velocity gains with a longer barrel than others. I doubt anything you shoot will be able to tell the difference.

Quickload is great for playing "what if?" with barrel length.

It would be illegal for me to shoot a 10" 7mmRemMag, but I can computer simulate it in a few seconds and get the velocity.

For bottle neck cartridges and canister powder, it is common for Quickload to predict a velocity centered in the string I measure with my chronograph.
