Public land Muzzleloader Success

Had a great hunt Oct. 29th on the WMA I manage. Shot this dandy 5.5 to 6.5 year old and field dressed 125. A good buck for my area. Good mass and love the chocolate antlers.

Very nice! You sure it's that old? The deer are pretty educated in there, in my understanding.

I was skunked ML season - but only hunted 2 of 9 days of it. Only saw 2 (public land).

Yes, Lex. Did you hunt in that controlled burn area from a year or two back?

Yes, Lexington WMA and the deer are very educated here with us being so close to OKC. We are the most visited WMA in the state. It was in an area I burnt last year. I had never hunted there before, went on a whim just to try a new area. I am sure of the age since I age all the deer that are taken during the controlled hunts for the WMA.
