Matching Factory Finish on Small 1911 Parts?

I like my new Remington R1 so far, but there are a few things I'd like to change. I'd like a longer/wider "paddle"-style thumb safety, and perhaps a beavertail grip safety.

My question is, do I try to find aftermarket parts that match the R1's finish, do I make all my changes and then have the entire gun refinished (maybe using NP3+ or some other high-speed/low-drag finish), or do I just live with any mismatch I end up with?

Comments on your poll:

Choosing 1 will drive you nuts and be impossible if buying parts mail order or on the net.

Picking 2 will cost a lot of money and there is no guarantee of a match because of use of different alloys and materials.

Go with 3 and quit worrying about the small stuff.

I'll take door No. 3.

I have done No 2 multiple times and while it does look GREAT I don't think it's worth the cost unless you're just going to lock it away in a safe as an investment.
