Competition shooting

I am looking at getting into competition shooting with my Glock 23. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I go to get started just local in the New River Valley Virginia?

CHeck out IDPA and USPSA websites and find a match in your area. Get a holster and 2-5 mags and your ready to go

I am in Oklahoma so I'd have to go pull up the maps on their websites too. you might check with the guys on the Brian Enos forum. Lots of comeptitive shooters on there.

Some clubs if you join will have a way to get into the shooting sports. That's what I did but haven't had a chance to figure out how it all works out. When I joined my local club they said they are affiliated with the cmp which isn't what you are looking at but its an example.

Something near you...

I would second IDPA and USPSA (aka IPSC)

Beckley, WV holds a Glock shoot since you have a Glock.
