I just heard of a rumor that Taurus will bring-out a snubby .45ACP revolver. It will be a 5-shot revolver loaded with moonclips. Has anyone else heard this? Later-on.

Did not hear anything about that at the SHOT show, but it would make sense for them to do. They have the .45 colt gun to use as a platform. I bet they would sell a TON of them. I sure as hell would want one (stainless with the bobbed hammer).
They did show some cool S&W 640 copies there in .38 and .357 that I am praying they will bring into production. |

Revolvergeek, do you like your snub-nose revolvers ported or non-ported? Especially in a .45ACP.

Makes a lot more sense than .44 Special, especially if they shorten the frame and cylinder to suit.

.44SPL is one of my favorite calibers
...but only handloaded. 240/250grn at 950 is a top performer for me....dewey |

I like .44Special also. But no gun person can refuse to pass a .45ACP revolver.

I sure hope they are brining one out in .45acp.
I have been wanting a totall titanium snub nose in .45 acp since I first saw one in .357. It owuld be a smart moce on their part, or so it would seem, because I bet a lot of people would buy them. If they arent going to, they should, and if they are, good for them! I'll take at least one |

No Taurus 45 acp revolvers at Shot Show, but they did have the S&W 940 knockoffs.

A 4" factory ported.45 auto Taurus set up to use moon clips would rule for SSR in IDPA. Probably cheaper than the Smith 625,too.

Oops! My mistake. No 9mm revolver, .38 Special only. The model at Shot Show was a 342 knockoff (It's fuzzy! Between squeezing the Para Ordinance air operated LDA and watching the Springfield girls next door, the little pea shooters weren't on my mind. ), not a 940 model. Taurus is calling theirs a 850 model. Too many numbers to remember.

If they are gonna do it I wish they would hurry! I wrote them last week asking them about one. We'll see.

Taurus .45 ACP moon clips
The moon clips that came with this Taurus .45 ACP revolver do not properly fit over the ( what's the proper terminology for this piece ? ) sprocket. I have been advised to send it back to Taurus. Anyone else have moon clip problems since this thread started in 1999 ?

Ya' know sometimes I would dare say that is better to start a new thread. Also, I have heard good things about that new "google" website.

Looks like ten years ago this site didn't bash every Taurus thread that came up.

I hate it when I'm about to unwittingly respond to a comment posted over 10 years ago.

Good idea. Shame about it being a Taurus.
Not to worry, S&W or Ruger will see Taurus making mad bank on that, and do a proper one.
