tac rail question

i have a sig 226. it did not come with a tactical rail.

my question...is there anything out there that i can retro-fit so that i can mount a flashlight?

i have seen picatinny rail that "supposedly" will accomodate what i am looking for. any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have not seen this Surefire set up personally, but it's worth a look:

I don't believe it requires a rail.

The above unit would work. If you choose a different SureFire light and specify your weapon model they will also send you an adapter that will mount to your gun allowing you to mount most any of the SureFire lighs. SureFire also sells just the adapter for certqin pistols. You can find all the details starting on page 34 of the catalog here:
