AK74 ProMags?

I'm in a pinch for a few new magazines for my SAR2 AK74. Right now all I have is one 30rd East German Bakelite. I would prefer all my mags be Bakelites but as those are going for $50+ each and I would like to have more than just 2 mags, Bakelites are not an option. To be honest $30/mag is a little out of my budget right now as well if I am buying any more than one.

So I stumbled across some ProMags in 5.45x39mm for about $12-15 and I thought "hell yeah"... shortly thereafter I read something here on TFL (forget who the poster was) that said ProMags are garbage. For the price I wouldn't be at all suprised but if anyone could clarify exactly how and why they are garbage and what their problems are that would be most appreciated.

I bought 5 of them, took a couple apart and found that the spring was put in backwards in three of the five (spring should be level on top and pointing forward... If that makes sense). I added a little graphite lube (its like 2.99 at ace for enough to lube 1,000 magazines).

They seem to work just fine, I did need to trim a little off bottom side of the rear catch for them to lock in.

Avoid dropping them or really beating them hard and they should be ok.

Oh I plastic welded 2 together and made a 60 for bumpfiring http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmQK360y9QI

Best price I can find for non promag 5.45x39 magazine is at kvar.

You know I would recommend buying one or two and testing them yourself before buying a bunch.
