Striker fired, Which ones have the best trigger?
I am thinking that my next 9mm might be a striker fired.

Ruger's sR9c. That's the best striker fired pistol I've had any experience with.

I don't have many to compare it to, but I really like the trigger on my P99 AS.

My S&W M&P Pro Series has a very good trigger.
After installing a PRP match trigger into my Springfield Armory XDm9 it has the best striker fired trigger I've ever experienced.

Another vote for Ruger SR9 and SR9C. To me it feels a lot like a 1911.
Looking at the specs it seems much thicker because the measurement is taken at the ambi safety levers. In practice it feels very thin, I compared it to a Glock 19 by laying them both on a counter. SR9 and SR9C are thinner in the grip and down the barrel. |

The M&P pro or with apex tactical kit is my favorite striker trigger. The XDM with PRP kit is also superb. I personally slightly prefer the feel if the M&P, but I prefer the M&P over the XDM overall. Not to take anything away from the XDM, just personal preference. Everyone says the PPQ is amazing... I've tried a couple. Good triggers for sure, but not better than M&P with Apex or XDM with PRP. As a factory trigger the PPQ is good, but no aftermarket stuff is available to make it even better as far as I'm aware.

Tried them all and owned most. The Walther PPQ is in another league and was clealy a huge step ahead of all the others. The reason is it is the only fully staged striker fire pistol. Its literally a turn key perfect pistol and as good as the PPQ's trigger is new, it gets even better after a few 100 rounds. Night sights are THE only thing the PPQ could use. There is the PPQ and every thing else. I gave my H&K to my wife.

The Kahr Elite triggers are very good. The FN-S trigger is probably one of the best I've had the opportunity to try.

I have a PPQ and a P99 A/S. I like the P99's trigger better, though

If I could find a PPQ M1, I'd own it already... I don't want the M2. I really hope they re-release some M1 models in the US.

I didn't mention the P7 because I didn't think it was fair to include what I consider a single action trigger. The difference between the Steyr and the others I have fired, S&W, Springfield and Glock is like night and day. You guys have me interested in the Walther. One is in the future.

I haven't fired many of the foreign makes except Glock.
As for American made my Ruger SR45 has a pretty nice trigger. With several hundred rounds through it it's very nice. With a Galloway trigger reset bar and removal of the magazine disconnect it's even better. I don't think you can get too much better in a striker fired pistol. Easy transition to my single action (1911). |
