win 1300 defender question
I am going pig hunting next month and it is slug only at this location.I am thinking about lending my Winchester 1300 Defender to my son inlaw to come with me.I see it is a smooth barrel and no choke so can slugs be used in it? Not a great a great hunting gun but I would love to have the kid come along so if it can work cool.Other wise he will be a observer. Thanks guys for any help.

It MAY work fine depending on the choke of the barrel. If the barrel is a full choke I wouldn't use it, you run the risk of damaging it. As a matter of fact if it's anything tighter than an Improve Cylinder you also run the chance of putting a slight ringe bulge in the barrel, that will show up a couple of inches below the muzzle.
Good Luck |
