I have a Kimber-built VZ-24 Mauser in 7mm Rem. Mag. with a 25'' barrel that's too heavy to carry normally with a sling. The rifle tips backward. The sling stud has to be moved forward, perhaps onto a barrel band. Here's the rub: the barrel is fluted, Would a band still look okay or should I find some other way to solve this problem. Tried one of those Safari Slings; nice idea but.....

2shots, the barrel band type should still work on your rifle. Just measure the point at the barrel where you want to mount it and make sure you get the right one. George

While I agree with George, it could be done quite easily, I also agree with you that from an aesthetics perspective it would probably look 'cobbled'. IMHO. Jim
