Aug. Francotte model Purdey - date of production

I have a Aug. Francotte by sistem Purdey high grade with the number 18527 and would like to know your production date.
Can you help?

There is a large gap in the records on

All I can tell there is that it was made sometime between 1900 and 1955.
Those darned world wars, I guess.

The mandatory proofmarks, stamped into the barrel bottoms/flats, and in the action watertable flats, should help define the DOM.
