Remington 870 rifle front sight replacement

Hi guys,
I am waiting for my Ashley big dot to arrive for my 870 and I am wondering how to remove the front rifle sight. It is a dove tail deal but I can not tell if I need to push it out from the left or right. Does it matter?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, it doesn't matter. Those dovetails are square. George

9mmMike,

I have rifle sights on my 870 as well. Is the Ashley front sight the same height as the factory one? So all you need to do is switch 'em out and keep the original rear sight?

Thanks much -Coop
