Case lube question??

Once you lube the cases and resize them, do you need to lube them again before seating the bullet?

No. Your cases should be cleaned after resizing and stay that way until fired.

I can't say I have ever bothered to clean my cases after resizing, although I have heard that some people do. I use a Hornady OneShot case lube and have never had a problem.

Removing the lube allows the case to expand and grip the chamber wall when fired, significantly reducing back pressure on the bolt. This may not be a problem with One Shot but may be a big problem with other lubes. Not to mention the crud that is attacted to lube...especially in the field.

Ah, that makes sense SDLAW. the Oneshot lube dries rapidly, leaving a very thin waxy coat. I've played with rcbs case lubes before (in the little bottle) and my cases were sticky and needed to be cleaned. That was years ago though...I switched to OneShot and never looked back. Good point though.

Quick - n - dirty:

DO NOT use general case lube for seating bullets.

Hornady one-shot for strightwall cases.
Dillon case lube for bottle neck cases.

One shot doesn't require tubling after sizing, dillon case lube does.

This method has worked for me for several hundred thousand rounds. YMMV.

I've used OneShot on .223 bottleneck cartridges as well as my 350RM bottleneck cartridges. Works fine, but requires just a touch more elbow grease than something like the liquid lubes.

For straightwall cases (ie: pistol style straightwall cases, NOT angled straightwall caes) I use carbide (?) dies that don't require any lube.
