Land Groove Dimensions?
I know I'm probably asking a question that's been asked many times before. I also know there's no generic answer. I just need a rough ballpark figure.
Could someone tell me the ID difference between the lands and grooves to a general measurement of what to expect in a 22 Hornet Rifle? Or, depending how you look at it: The height of the lands or depth of the grooves. Thanks in advance. Resbum99 |

Depends on the rifle, especially a Hornet
as they have been around so long. Some are .223 some .224 to start with.
Slug the bore and get a real good set of OD and depth mikes to answer your question. (The reason for which is a mystery to me) |

Typically, US-made barrels use a .219" bore diameter with .224" groove diameter. European-made barrels use a .218" bore with .224" groove diameter.
