Howdy Zip,

The targets at Macon probably average 9-10 yards for pistol targets and 18-20 for rifle targets. Some rifle targets are permanently set into the rear berm, and they are easily 20 yards. Most of the pistol targets are fairly large, but one stage does have some fairly small targets shaped like card suits.

I do the same thing. Longest rifle shot we can make in the pistol pits is exactly 50 yards. We always have buffalo targets set up at fifty for CAS. In USPSA, we have the same physical restrictions. So I always practice my rifle shots at fifty.
