20 ga dove hunting load

I am taking my son dove hunting for the first time. I am looking for a good dove load that will get out there and still have some thump on it.

Generally there isn't much interest in shotgun loading around here. The reason I believe is shotgun loads are kind of cut-and-dryed. The only 20ga load I remember was 7/8 oz of shot with 14g 700x, used 8s or 9s for sheet and 6s for birds. See the the Hodgdon site for other ideas. Good hunting
