C&B guns on reservations
I was curious if anyone knows if black powder revolvers are legal to carry on indian reservations. I often explore the mountains in my region and would feel very well armed with a C&B pistol. Common knowledge is that firearms are not allowed but I'm not sure about black powder guns. Thanks

Maybe it depends on whether they have a casino or not?
Seriously though, I would think every reservation would have their own regulations, and inquiring with the individual reservation [law] authorities would provide the specific answer. |

I would agree with arcticap. Check with the individual
reservations. Here where I live, you would want to deal with two or three different lawyers that work with the tribe. BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS http://www.doi.gov/bureau-indian-affairs.html Tinker2 |

Depends on where. I am familiar with the Cherokee in North Carolina. All fire arms would have to be registered with tribal police. Gun sales prohibited inside the Res. Visitors should check with tribal agency before wondering around on Indian land. State regulations also apply. Give them a call. Most Reservations are self governed to a point, but rely on state and federal guidlines. Each may be different.
