THIS JUST HAS NOT BEEN MY MONTH

DUE T HEALTH REASONS I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING THE 22 SHOOT MUCH TO MY REGRET. APPRENTLY I WAS BITTEN BY AN INSECT (POSSIBLY A SPIDER) AND HAD A BAD REACTION. MY LEFT HAND HAS SWOLEN TO TWICE ITS NORMAL SIZE. THE PAIN IS INTENCE, REQUIRING THE USE OF NARCOTICS TO COMBAT IT.
FORV THIS REASON DRIVING AND HANDLING FIREARMS WOULD NOT BE A GOOD IDEA. HOPEFULLY NEXT TIME. PERHAPS I CAN SET ONE UP AT WICENS FARM RANGE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.

David you could always do a K80 and rent a car to drive up.
Do car rental places have some sort of mileage limit? There's an Enterprise place near my apartment, and they have a weekend special on compact cars. It would cost about $33 for the weekend, but I don't want to get hit with a $100 penalty for driving to PA. (If I'm lucky, the parts for my car will show up this week, and the insurance company will pay for the rental. )

I still need to buy some .22 ammo.

Long Range Weather forecast...

Hey Soda,

It's beginning to look like even the weatherman(person?) doesn't want to play nice with the planned event. The long range forecast is calling for heavy rains.

Of course, that could easliy change by then. It must be kinda nice to be able to have such a wide latitude of accuracy in your job and still not have to worry too much about getting it wrong(weather prediction that it).

Time will tell....

jmlv,
Nice one-handed typing! Hope you feel better.

nvrquit,
This is a Sodapop event. It's rain-or-shine baby!

I, of course, will not be there since I'll be in Miami....

Rain or Shine! BTDT, GTTS!

9mmMike,

Rain or shine as an admonition and you're going to be in Miami!?!

Some would wish a hurricane on you, but I hope it's all sun and clear sail'in for you.

As for the "rain or shine"... the subject line says it. Did that at the state IDPA match. What a soggy Sunday morning that was!

For all of you cowards.......... if your all gonna bail on me because of the weather I'll schedule a COWARDS 22 SHOOT AND CHICKENED OUT GATHERING the following weekend.

If it looks like its going to be too windy I'll post-pone it. But if its just rain we should be ok

Peoples' Republic of New Germay....

Tigershark,

You must obviously be referring to the socialist utopia of the Socialist Republic of New Jersey.

It's just starting to get interestng, what with the Torch's non-event of withdrawal. Hey, it didn't happen to have anything to do with your friend's being from Florida. Seems to me they've had quite a bit of their own voting "experiences" in that state.

On the topic of the Bersa Thunder380, yes I've got one(the "Deluxe" version, with the extended mag). I've also got it's little brother(sister?), the Thunder22. If I don't wimp out owing to the "heavy rain"(if it happens), then you, she and all other safe shooters may enjoy(!?!) shooting both.

See you(maybe) all on Saturday!

If anyone wants my cell phone number Email or PM me.

Also, I'll be around setting up near the pistol range between 9-10am so you can meet me there. Everyone must register inside the building before you shoot. Please tell them that you are there from "The Firing Line" so they can keep account of how many of us are there. If we get 20 or more people there we can get hopefully get a discount on the $20 registry. I'm still trying to see if I can just pay for renting the range up front and then just split it between all of us. Defanitely a price break if that happens.

It looks like I may have 6 friends and family going, plus 15-25 TFL members.

Anyone have any questions?

Does anyone know what the weather people are saying? I heard the Storm looks like its going to stay to the West of us.

Yes! It use to be $15 but they just raised the price. It's $8 to shoot the 5 stand.

I seriously think we should be able to get a price break. Several TFL members have gotten memberships at W&W from these TFL gatherings, and we've probable had over 50 TFL members come out in the last year and a half. One of the women that runs the place said she was going to see if we could rent a portion of the range for a fee "no matter how many people show up." If we get 15 or more people there (looks like we should have more than that) I am pretty sure it should only be about $10 per person. I'll go up there again tomorrow morning to get a final answer.

Just make sure you tell them that your from TFL when you sign up!!

The weather look like its going to be just fine Saturday. I see "AM clouds and Sunny afternoon for Saturday." Only a 20% chance of rain.

Quantrill- when are you going to make a decision on whether or not your flying?

I picked up a nice "Pennsylvania" state flag, and a "Culpeper" "Don't tread on me" flag to hang up.

If any of you coming from other States has a State flag BRING IT!

I have a bunch of pictures from the 1st NJ shoot that I'll bring.

.22 shoot

Soda,
Probably not going to fly. As much as i would like to, I'm a little worried about having a plane full of guns with all the increased police presence at airport. Why ask for trouble? I have never flown into Quakertown airport and don't know how they would react. I know how many of the people at Hammonton Airport , where the plane is kept, would react if they saw an unknown person with firearms. So if I come, it will be by car.
Ray, if you can remember, please bring my old ammo can with you. thanks, Quantrill

Well I hope you make it next time, JMLV!

Ok, I got the non-members fee down to $15. Make sure you tell them you are from "The Firing Line."

Once you make the turn from the second traffic light off of 663 (you should see a "Marshall's lawn and garden center on your right and a "Lighthouse Tabernacle" church to your left. Once you make the right had turn off of 663, it is 1.7 miles until you see the "engraved stone with Water and Wings" on it. There are also two signs on either side of the stone for local politicians running for election.

After you make the turn to the right of the stone you are on "Janes Lane" and proceed until you see the big barn building off to your right. It is best if you go past the building and enter where the "rifle range" entrance is (behind the building).
