What type of revolvers are these?

I am big in to semi's, love my sigs and HK, but have no experience with revolvers. My is going to give me these next time I am home.

Here is what I know about them:

1) They are both shoot 38 special
2) The silver one is a Taurus
3) The black one is a snubbie S&W
That’s basically all I know.

FYI, I don’t have them with me, just the pictures, as they are still in the possession of my father.

Any idea as to what models they are and approx value.

The Taurus no clue.

The S&W looks like a Model 36 Chief's Special. Value on that one depends a lot on the area you're in, but these days $400 is a good starting point for one in good condition.

Concur with MikeIrwin and your dad

Those are a S&W 36 and Taurus 85. A friend of mine has the 36, and my cousin has the 85.

For the Taurus model number, open the cylinder. The model number is on the frame inside the yoke.

Value isn't going to be all that high. You're better off keeping it for a shooter, if it's in decent shape.

It does not look like a Taurus model 85, which would be the same size as the Smith.
