Trijicon on a revolver?
Gunners,
I have trijicon night sights on a 1911. Can they be installed on a S&W Model 66 for the same cost as an auto? Rmocarsky |

I would think that the front sight on the 66 would involve some real serious gunsmithing and machine work and might not be reversible.

Does your 66 have the red ramp on the front sight or all steel? I believe I have seen night sight inserts for the front if that is the case.
If not, I believe you will have to pay a gunsmith to cut you a dovetail on the front ramp.

I had Trijicon night sights installed on a Smith 25-5 years ago. My gunsmith had no problems with it. They are getting dimmer, but still work.

It depends upon whether your front sight is pinned or not.
If not, the front night sight has to replace the orange insert: http://www.amazon.com/Meprolight-Wes.../dp/B0002INGM4 XS Sights has front sights for S&W revolvers. My instructor had the standard dot on his 686. http://www.xssights.com/Products.aspx?CAT=8373 |

Trijicon.com ....
I think Trijicon; www.Trijicon.com has S&W revolver sights(tritium).
I saw them for J frame front sights but Im not sure what other types they offer. |

I checked and they offer only J-Frame sights.

Trijicon makes a set for Smith revolvers but you need the orange insert that is fit at the factory removed as the front sight fits in that dovetail. Rear sight requires at least a new leaf and quite possibly a new rear sight assy. The set up is expensive and prone to receive abuse due to their elevated status on the weapon.

I have them on a model 640 357. So yes, they can be installed on your revolver.

Bay Mule, Tritium half life is about 12.2 years. They'll be half as bright in 12.2 years.
