Savage model 30 year produced?
I have a Savage model 30E, and I am trying to find out the year it was produced. It's a non take down version. Input would be appreciated.

I would check the bottom of the receiver, just ahead of the triggerguard, for the circled Savage Letter Date Code - which started in 1949 with "A", progressing to the last year (1970) with a "X".
IIRC, they were made in the late -60's. . |

The only thing I found that is circled, is a "5N" (that's a five not an S) It is on the left side of the barrel right by the receiver, it is a half circle with an * above each end. The circle is slightly more than half. Nothing on the receiver. BTW, it's a 2 3/4" chamber, and no serial number.
