Canoe Carry

Going on a three day canoe trip, anyone got any suggestions on ways to carry a J-frame and keep it waterproof. Thing about a cheap fanny pack and ziplock bags.

The standard answer is a Pelican case strapped to the boat. I've seen it many times in a whitewater kayak, should work for canoes.

They float and are very waterproof.
