popups within threads?
I think today, 23 July 2013, is the first time I've seen this. Some word(s) within some posts seem linked to a popup for "make money now" or similar. It doesn't seem like something the individual posters are doing.
Example: The Firing Line Forums > Hogan's Alley > Handguns: General Handgun Forum Reload this Page Semiauto vs. Revolver - which is more popular in the US? Posts #2 and #3. In my FireFox, the words "autos" "the windows" and "money" are highlighted as html links. Mouseover them and I see the offending popups. Is this something in the site code? Or could I have a malware somewhere causing this? Thanks - Sgt Lumpy |

Could you give a direct link to the thread in question?

I may have resolved it. Looking at the source code for the page, I couldn't find any html around the words in the posts. I found a malware extention called "SafeSave" in my FireFox list. Deleted that and the odd popup links seem gone. Similar popups were happening on CraigsList.
I'll go run a hard malware/virus/trojan check to see if I can kill any code generators that might be lurking. Sgt Lumpy |

Since the problem seems to be on your end, I'm going to go ahead and close this. If you see anything that might be site-related, don't hesitate to let us know.
