Help w/Brass Identification
While cleaning out my used brass bin I came across some brass I can't, with any confidence, identify. The headstamps are FNM 78-13, FNM 78-15, and FNM 78-22. There is also a little circle with what appears to be 4 little triangles. The brass is identical in size to some .308 Match brass I have but the case is thinner/lighter. The best I've been able to come up with is FNM brass could be made at either Fábrica Nacional de Municiones, Santa Fe, México (near Mexico City),Fábrica Nacional de Munições de Armas Ligeiras, Chelas, Portugal, or an Unknown Factory, Mexico (from http://www.cartridgecollectors.org/headstampcodes.htm). My initial thought is that the brass is 7.62x51 Nato rounds made in either Portugal or Mexico. Why the different numbers?

The little triangles are cloverleaf-like propeller screw blade-like thingies. A NATO symbol. Read this for an explanation of the symbol some general information on NATO surplus.
