Remy 700 "Blind" magazine conversion
Hi
How much work is it to convert a Remy 700 short action from a blind (I believe that's the term for the version without a hinged floor plate) magazine to take a Wyatt detachable magazine system? Thanks |

For a knowledgeable smith that has the proper tools, it's no big deal (about 1.5-2 hrs of shop time). For a hobbyist that has a hand-held drill, a couple of screwdrivers, and a file, it's going to be very challenging.

I am not familiar with the magazine systen you are talking about, but back when I was a green 18 year old kid I converted a wood stocked ADL to BDL floorplate configuration. Even with my inexperience, it turned out great. I just took my time and removed the wood that needed to be removed.

I have several ADLs and bought them because I like the looks of the rifle without the big floorplate. It is a bit harder to unload unfired rounds, but not a big deal.

I converted a Rem 700 Ti in 7-08 that was factory "blind"...bought a McMillan stock, bottom metal from Brownell's and bolted all together. Works great!!
