Big male coyote down!

I got in late last night from the local high school football game so I was a bit tired this morning. But when the alarmed sounded off at 4:30am I got up anyway!
I got up made some coffee and ate a quick breakfast.
As I started to get dressed I checked the weather outside to see how many layers I needed and discovered it was raining!
Bummer!
But I goofed around watching the radar and some hunting show for a bit. Then finally the radar showed that the rain was about to stop.
I figured it was going to be overcast day which may have the critters moving so I decided to go give it a shot!
I got all my gear loaded & made the drive to the hunting spot I had picked out. I get to the property at about 7:30 a.m. and during the whole drive the weather looked great. It was dark and calm which is always been a great combination for predators.
The drive from the gate to where I hide my truck is about a half mile through rough wet cow pasture. As I make the drive it starts to rain again. I sit in the truck and wait for the rain to stop.
At about 9:20 am, over an hour on the truck, it holds off enough to make a run at it!

1st stand had no takers!

On the 2nd stand I set up at the back of the property in some taller grass.
This 37lbs 6oz male came in to the Reese Double Snag distress diaphragm!
He ate a round of 3" #4 buck at 20 yards!

JJ, man you need a caddie.

In all seriousness, great job, nice coyote.
I always like reading about your hunts, keep the stories coming.

I'm going to be shut down on coyote hunting for awhile because of our deer seasons starting.

Best Regards
Bob Hunter

Thanks guys!
He was an old male showing a good deal of tooth wear and the lower right canine had been broke!
He had definitely wreaked havoc on this area for some time now!

skoro at 37lbs 6oz it is about average size for this area for a full grown male coyote.
I had a female last week that weighed 36lbs 6oz.!

Bob you should see all the stuff I carry to each stand! I need a wagon!

Pahoo I love those Hunter Specialties shooting sticks! I put a DIY camo paint job on mine but they are a great buy for the money!

Yes I was surprised how thick his fur was already. It was quite nice for this time of year!

Remington 3" #4 buck and a Carlson's extended extra full choke tube!
