T/C Black diamond XR

I borrowed it to hunt with. My question is what do I shoot out of it. I have zero experiance with inlines so any help would be great. It is 1-28 twist and I'll be shootin pyro. Would like to stay away from sabots and pistol bullets as I think they'll be to light with that twist. Thanks E.

for a simple, readily available load, get some 300gr Hornady SSTs or T/C Shockwaves (same bullet) and shoot them with about 100gr of Pyro.

That rifle is MADE for use with sabots................. but if you REALLY don't wanna use them, your next option should be the 348gr or 295gr PowerBelts or you can try a pure lead conical such as the 385gr Hornady Great Plains.

These are all readily availble where most black powder supplies are sold.

Do I need to back the charge down with the great plains then? Does anyone make a sabot for .458 cal bullets? I bet a 405 hard cast would fly good. E

Yes to both.

The Great Plains should shoot well with 90 to 100gr of Pyro max.

Havrester makes a .458 to .50 sabot and you can get them directly from Cabelas as well as other sources I'm sure.
