.22lr 1918 bar
my xmas present came!!!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ah3sqr3uV8 a new 1918 BAR stock. its currently in its airsoft form so ill enjoy this for awhile before i decide to gut it open and drop in a .22LR action/barrel. the width of the BAR receiver is a bit over 1.5 inches so in theory a Ruger 10/22 can fit in it. if the 10/22 wont fit then ill drop in my Marlin 795 everything is full metal except the plastic handguard and butt stock. but i have to say that the faux wood looks real this bad boy feels like it weighs about 17-18lbs. will probably take it over 20lbs with a .22LR inside. i paid $365 shipped for this limited stock. cant wait to gut this and take it to the range when im done with it now for pics. _MG_5389 by defconskylude, on Flickr _MG_5388 by defconskylude, on Flickr _MG_5390 by defconskylude, on Flickr _MG_5387 by defconskylude, on Flickr i still have my other BAR with the pistol grip version that hasnt been converted yet. so ill eventually have 2 different BAR's with a .22LR inside |

Latest progress on the .22LR 1918 BAR using a Marlin 795
Finished JB welding the brass coupling. Just cured last night so its nice and tight. Just have to paint the brass piping flat black and then I'm off to the range tomorrow for test fires. Why did I use brass piping? Because the 795 barrel was too short and I wanted to re-use the bipod so I bought brass piping with a 3/4 inner diameter that easily slips over the 795 barrel. Used a couple of couplings to mate 3 pipes together. Also found a threaded piece that can simulate a flash hider. _MG_5468 by defconskylude, on Flickr _MG_5469 by defconskylude, on Flickr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKnMLlfUheo |
