Winchester "W" 94?

Hello!

I've stumbled into a Winchester Model 94, made in the late 1930s, that has a small "W" stamped under the serial number.

According to the Madis Winchester book, a large "W" was stamped on Winchester guns owned by the factory and provided to exhibition shooters.

Do you suspect the small "W" sample is one of the same?

Thanks!
Dave
