M2 BMG finish/coating?

Hope this is the right place. I am creating a replica Ma Duece for a re-enactment. The outer finish seems to be a dull gray powder coat. Does anyone know what this is? Is it the metal or a coating?

OK, did a bit more research. I am looking to replicate a parkerized / phosphate finish, just for display.

Brownells sells a very nice genuine Parkerizing solution that will work on any kind of firearm as long as it's steel.

Thanks. A quick trip to the hardware store did the trick. Grey metalic textured spray paint with a light coat of black primer. It turns out there is much debate about the most authentic color for parkerized finishes.
