.223 brass

my friend told me today that you can trim 223 brass to a make a 308 round. is this possible?

not even close to the same diameter.

Are you sure your friend didn't mean trim the 223 brass to make a 380 ACP?

he actually meant, sizing and trimming 223 brass into brass for .300 ac blackout, or 7.62x39

Hey Marlin,

I think someone is still getting things mixed up. You cannot make .223 brass into 7.62X39 either. The Russian round is much bigger than the .223. As for a .300 AC Blackout, I have to say that I do not know what that caliber is.

I think he meant to say you could use the 223 and make 7 mags! Just joking. Just resize them and leave at 223 until they're useless and then to the scrapyard.

Apparently, you "experts" have NOT heard of the .300 Whisper. While not technically made from the 223(it uses the 221 Fireball), it COULD be made from a .223 by shortening considerably.

It DOES use a .308 diameter bullet so in one aspect, IT IS A 308.
