s&w 1911 questions

I recently bought a S&W 1911Sc in .45 auto. I saw that some other people had some issues and I may have the same issues. I'd like to find out if I can take care of these two things myself or if I need to send the gun back for repair.

#1) Burrs in the barrell crown. Mine is not as bad as some pictures I've seen but it definetly has a sharp edge all the way around the muzzle crown.

#2)Uneven shelf on the breech face that is marking up the headstamp on fired brass. I'm reading that S&W is no longer fixing this but calling it a cosmetic issue.

Thanks in advance for your advise and insight.

I can't answer the question about you doing them yourself as I don't know how much skill you have at this.
Both problems can be corrected and you may a local smith that can do so. This would save shipping the gun back to S&W.
