Remington 125 SJHP question
Bought a box of factory 38 Special +P 125 SJHP's (Serrated Jacketed Hollow Point) so I can chrono and duplicate at the reloading bench.
Down loaded one round and it appears it is loaded with 6.0 grains of what looks like Power pistol. The factory bullet's cannular was located lower on the base than my component bullets. Is this particular bullet come in a 38 Special and 357 Magnum variety to explain the different cannular position? TR |

A few things here.
First, factories do not use the cannister grade powder that reloaders use, so don't assume it is one type of powder and start loading with it. Use the information found in reloading manuals (you should check at least three) and work up until you get the desired velocity and accuracy. You may find that you will need to try several different powders. Second, you did not say which brand of bullet you will be using for your reloads. Different manufacturers make their bullets differently. If you want to duplicate Remington ammo, then you need to start with Remington bullets. |

Know about factory vs cannister grade powders. Powerpistol observation was in that context.
The component bullet in question is a Remington 125 SJHP.......... TR |

Definitely NOT Bullseye 84 (PP).
No, R-P 125g S-JHP is same in 38 / 357.
