Mossberg 195K bolt action 12 GA.
At age 18 this was my first firearms purchase and the only one until the 686+ joined it 34 years later. At that age my funds were just about enough to pay for this "all around" firearm ($49 from Sears and Roebuck), a 1X Weaver scope, swing off mount and installation, a few boxes of rifled slugs and a cleaning kit. Still have it.

My dad gave me a mossberg 500 when i was 12... still have it (sold it once, but individual passed away and I was able to buy it back) I guess that makes it 18 years old.... and I bet you couldn't tell by looking at it.
Do you remember your first gun, how diligently you cleaned it after first shooting it... i remember. |

First one I owned was an Iver-Johnson 12ga single shot with an 8"bbl and a wood pistol grip.
First legal one was an 870P (and I still own it, 31 years later). |

First shotguns
The first shotgun that was given to me is a 20 Ga. H&R Topper Model Ducks Unlimited Greenwing Special.
The first shotgun I bought for myself is a Browning Auto-5 Light Twelve. First shot out of that 20 Ga. put me on my butt, but at least I had a boat cushion!

First one was a Fox Sterlingworth 20 ga double. I got it for Christmas when I was 13, a year when my parents didn't have any money for gifts and they'd gotten this gun when my great-grandfather died earlier that year. After the Christmas joy had worn off, I gave it back to my father, it was far too nice a gun for a 13 year old kid to be trudging thru the snow and shooting rabbits with. I got it back when he died a few years ago. It's still a nice gun.

Remington 1100 20 ga. got it when I was 9. I still shoot it to this day. My son will get it when he is mature enough and big enough to handle it.
