Colt Detective .38 price?

Just curious what the going price around the US, on avrg., for a Colt Detective .38, with an unshrouded ejector, in 95% condition, with no box???

Well I assume you mean a post war gun. Pre war guns are sought after. I also assume you mean a 2in barrel and blue.

I would say based on my assumptions, a plain detective special, $400 to $600. You may see them for over $600, but they will rarely sell for that much if 95% and without box. Be patient, many were made.

I think I got mine with over 500 rounds of factor ammo for $475 or something. The deals are out there.

I paid $500.00 for mine 2 months ago and it was in pristine condition. It is a later model with the ejector shroud though.

It is all a matter of taste. I love the Colt's with the shrouded ejector and do not care for the ones without.

True-"it is all a matter of taste". I prefer the Colt Detective Special/Cobra/Agent revolvers without the shrouded ejector and do not care (as much) for the ones with.
