Lyman sizer won't go all the way up
I'm not sure what just happened, but I took this rod out
And now after sizing the bullet when it goes back up this is as far as the bullet will come out Here is a pic of the handle when it's all the way back Any suggestions?! Thanks |

On one of my 450s the linkage was binding on the pressure screw cap.
If not relook at the linkage to see if it`in the correct place , if it is. Then look at the I die length , or maybe some one has blocked a hole with a peice of shot & it`s stiking thru ??? Without it in hand that`s all I got . By the way is that a new linkage kit ??? If so maybe a better side pic & I`ll compare it to mine. GP

It's the same linkage, and it cycles all the way back up if there is a bullet in between the bullet knockout bracket and the plunger. Any suggestions on that?

Isn't there a bullet ejector rod which pushes up from under the die? I don't think it's adjustable but you may have a problem there.

Here's the relationships you should be looking for:
CHECK: The lower bullet ejector rod stops up against a hollow threaded section which can screw in/out of the frame's bottom for adjustment. Sometimes the lube/beeswax freezes up that threaded section -- so take a heat gun to the area for 15 sec and it turns easily. If that's the problem (movement of the lower 'U' brace of the handle stops short against that threaded section), loosen it up/screw it in some more and things will move up more. Nice pics , but that`s the old linkage set up . The new set up has 2 sets of links , 1 longer than the other . I think. Could be a "custom" lift punch ???

Actually... when I look at it... the linkage is the same, Old-New, just the cantilever arm from the handle
running to 2nd pivot point is shaped differently. But it (and the whole mechanism) operates exactly the same way. NEW |

Could it be the set screw which holds the top punch in the ram isn't fully seated?

Good point Creeker , I`ve done that myself !!!
Here`s a pic of what I had to do to a cover, the back radius was hitting hard like in mehaveys NEW pic. Here`s a pic of the ejector rods length.

Lyman sizer won't go all the way up
So I was finally able to sit down and look at the sizer and realized that the ram was spun 180 degrees backwards and this fixed it
