FWIW, Accurate Arms has an 8700. It’s a slow burner and I assumed that the similarity in numbers was more than coincidental.

Faster

126. AA-8700
127. N-170
128. H-1000
129. H-870

Slower

I also like H-870...I have found it useful in around 180 different loads. (Glad I have several 8-pounders set aside...)

Looks like back to H1000 for me.
Does anyone know what ammo the military used this powder for? It was all surplused military pulldown powder-I'm guessing maybe for 20 or 30mm. Maybe this is what they used in the GAU-8 30mm's?

Substitute WC 872 military surplus powder for H870. I use it in 7mm Rem Mag. 8# for $32.00--------Chainsaw
