My shooting irons

Here's my two cap and balls. Ones a Pietta 1860, the other is a Pietta that Cabella's calls the "1851 Colt Navy Confederate Sheriff". Being that it is a brass frame, it is actually a shortened repro of a Schneider and Glassick, with the historically incorrect caliber of .44 instead of .36. But they both shoot great, I love em, and my favorite actually is the Schneider and Glassick. The short barrel just naturally lines up on target great!

Looks like the recipe for a fun day at the range! The 1860 is my favorite.

The Sheriff's model brings back memories

I have an FIE and it is the only revolver I have ever had chain fire on me.

It was a dream to shoot.

But alas, the chain fire loosened the arbor and so it has become a wall hanger.

Drat!

Doc,
I have an 1861 Uberti navy 36C that has been reworked and honed to go in all "4 cocks" with ampco nipples. I retired it and put on the stores shelf. email me at [email protected] before someone grabs this jewel.
