About 10 minutes drive to closest outdoor range which I am a member of.
2 minutes to an indoor range that I don't care for much. The alternative is about a 20 minute drive.
Public outdoor range is about 1 hr 15 minutes and I like to go there.
Another outdoor public range an hour away or a tad more.

Distance to Outdoor Range

I'm a member at a range 7.9 miles from home thats the closest. Because this club is in the midst of the most densely populated county in Florida the rules are quite strict.
My favorite is 53+ miles away, offers a 1000 yard range, allows rapid fire but is only open four days of the week.

20-mile round trip, in a rural area so no traffic to deal with ... actually, it's kind of a nice drive ...

outdoor firearm ranges.....

In my metro area, there is public range run by a county govt agency approx 79mi away.
It's $10.00 per day(800am to 430pm) or $75.00 for 6mo.
I've never been to it but it looks clean & well organized.
Another state/federal site in a Nation Forest(NPS) is about 70 min away.
It's free but in a remote area. You can fire shotguns, rifles, handguns.

Clyde
ps A private gun range with member dues of about $250.00 per year is in my city but I'm not able to join yet for those fees.

The private club I belong to has both indoor and outdoor pistol ranges. Rifle ranges out to 200 yards, trap, archery and fishing. It's about a 5 minutes away.
