I'm not in OK,can't tell you a smith.Check the web pages of your sight mfgr. They are likely all buried in work, and may not be taking any in,but I believe outfits like Novak and Trijicon at least did offer installation in the past.

any gunsmith can do it for you. Do you want the post on the front sight or a dovetail cut?

I had thought about having a dove tail cut but hadn't really decided. I figured it would be better to cut it but didnt know if that was a smart thing to do to it for the value of it. I'm in Ponca city so el Reno isn't to far of a drive

I'm afraid we're out of commission for a while in El Reno. May 31st tornado blew our shop away, tools and all.

In Jones, OK there is Steve Baldwin. He did some rifle work for my cousin and I was impressed enough that I'm having him do some for me. His webpage is here:

Thanks for all the help. Sorry to hear about your shop oldgunsmith. Are you going to be able to get your shop back up and going at some point? If so I will keep you in mind for work once you are back at it

Sorry to hear of your loss oldgunsmith, other then the loss of the shop I hope all is well.

jdmcconnell, if you don't find a local smith to do your sight work, I do all types of sight cuts and installations in the shop.
I do highly recommend doing a transverse dovetail front sight installation over the old stake on method.

Best Regards

Sure do appreciate the concern. Nobody hurt. Adequate safe places (they call them fraidy holes) and everybody knew what to do. They're saying it'll take about 18 months to rebuild the school, but they're moving everything that's left to a temporary location in Yukon and should be back in business there by the end of August.

There is one gunsmith in the Tulsa area that has been in business a long time and therefore has the experience to work on my guns. Especially the senior gunsmith... not sure about the younger guys working there.

MacKool Firearms – 6390-B East 31st St., Tulsa, OK 74135-5437 (918) 663-3880
