Western Marshal ?

I hope this is the right area for my questions. My father gave me a single action revolver for hunting. I know my dad has had this weapon for over 30 years, and it is in very good shape. The weapon is blued with cased hardened steel around the cylinder with a six inch barrel and hard wood grips. The weapon has a serial number 14238/3. On the right side below the cylynder has Hawes Firearm Co.. Along the barrel on one side has J.P. Sauer and Sohn (made in West Germany) on the other side of the barrel is written Western Marshal .357 Magnum. My father told me that the action/ tigger was worked on by Bob Mundun. How rare is the revolver? How much is it worth? Any Information would by nice.

Reallistacally, $200.00. They are decent quality single action Colt clones. The action tuning story is nice but, unless documented, it is a nice story. If documented, the revolver is still worth $200.00 unless you find a rabid fan of "the fastest man alive". Is yours a brass gripframe or alloy?

I have owned them in 357 and 44 Magnum. I have had brass and alloy frames. They are so BIG due to the 45 Magnum cartridge that was popular for awhile. They needed the mass to handle the cartridges pressure. I used to use mine for testing handloads before Rugers were common. They are the granddaddy of the EAA Bounty Hunters.
