benelli advice, please!

Ok, I am in the market for a semi-auto shotgun for home defense and fun, and am considering the m-2 tactical and the m-4, both from benelli. What are your opinions of the two action types? Reliability? I have read about 2 and 4 port versions of the m-4-- I thought the gas system was to be self-regulating? What are the pros and cons of the two? Are there any other semi-auto designs I should consider? (I need a semi because the fiancee doesn't feel comfortable with a pump.) Thanks for the help!

If you like Benellis, all I can tell you is that the M3 is a ton of fun. Plus, you can switch from semiauto to pump and back rather easily. It doesn't address your questions too well, but it's what I got...

+1 for the M3.

If you want to try one out let me know, I'll be at Angeles Shooting Range on Sunday (18th). You can't miss me (us), we'll be at the far end of the rifle range by the clay throwers. Just look for all the .50's and ask for Shawn, if you want to try out a .50 you can do that also.
