226 mag hi-cap

I picked up a sig 226 in 9mm and with it came a factory mag that holds 26 rds. I seem unable to find anything on this hicap and would like to know if there is any reason NOT to use it or if there is some problem with it? Also, is the mag itself worth using? Thanks Looks like somehow a .40 rd hicap 226 mag got shipped with my 9mm as the .40 is supposed to load 14. Anyone looking for a 14 rd .40 sig mag?

The highest capacity P226 magazine I'm aware of holds 20 rounds.

after market pistol magazines...

Over the years Ive read in many articles and heard from different sources to be leery of high cap type after market pistol mags.
SIG 9x19mm magazines with 16/18/20rds have been sold in the US for over 20 years or so but a 26/30rd seems like it would break or jam at some point.
Mag capacity is somewhat over-rated too. Unless you are going into full combat, it would be highly doubtful if you'd fire more than 3/4 rounds.
If you are in a place where high cap magazines are needed them a well made 12ga shotgun, 5.56/6.8SPCII/7.62mm M4 or M2 .50BMG may work better.

I have a slightly different take on Hi-Cap mags. When I purchase a new gun that has a larger capacity, I will make sure to buy some decent quality aftermarket (or manufacture if available) magazines just to have with it. Right now they are cheap, available and why not buy one or two hi-caps along with some extra stock magazines? I even have a good 10 round magazine for my "Deagle 44".

If/when they are banned again, you will be glad you bought them - enhances sales value of your gun too, if you sell it during a ban. Plus - if the zombies........(I know, I know this board doesn't believe in zombies)

The plus 2 20 rounders run well for me, 4 came with the gun (Blackwater) and I found factory mags recently but they are abotu $60 each and I think 4 is enough with having too many irons in the fire so to speak.

I love the gun and the mags,
I can't find a holster I like yet, everything is made without rail.....

hi cap

that mag says " 226 sig" on it, unless it was slipped into the box and runs .40 instead of 9mm, but it sure loads 26 rds of 9mm. and only 14 .40 cal will fit in it so what gives with the thing?
