Tubb’s final finish on new AR-15?
Has any one used G. David Tubb’s final finish bore polishing system?
I have just received my RRA NM AR-15. I have not shot it. Would you use his system on this rifle? |

I have not personally used the product.
But the caretaker of our club rifles [M1's and AR-15's] uses them religiously.

I've never tried fire lapping, but it's my understanding that the biggest benefits are seen with shot-in barrels.

I would NOT use final finsh in a new Service rifle. I would shoot and clean with 5 single rounds followed by a single 3 round group (slow fire) and clean followed by a single 5 round group, (slow fire) clean and call it good.
Your RRA NM has a Wilson match barrel which could take you to Master or beyond. Feed it good ammo and if it's not hitting the ten ring, either your sights are off or it's the nut behind the trigger. Where I would use Tubbs final finsh is when the throat is rough and the rifle is making tons of copper.
