Serial # research

I have two handguns that I was trying to find information on the serial #'s. One is a WWII Walther PPK serial #836127 the other a S&W 669 serial #TAJ3952.

Thanks for the response

Thanks Harley for getting back to me. I'm still researching the guns and finding it very interesting. Do you know of any website that can search specific serial #'s of guns and give a listing for that particular one? I know the Walther records were probably lost in the war (mine was made at the Thuringia factory between 1929-1945) but maybe there's a chance for the S&W.
